ASME B36.19M Stainless Steel Pipes
ASME B36.19M is the standard that covers the standardization of dimensions of welded and seamless wrought stainless steel pipe for high or low temperatures and pressures. The stainless steel pipes can be categorized as SCH 5S, SCH 10S, SCH 40S and SCH 80S according to their wall thickness. The suffix "S" in the schedule number is used to differentiate B36.19M pipe from B36.10M pipe. ASME B36.10M includes other pipe thicknesses that are also available with stainless steel pipes.

* Two unit systems are provided: SI metric units and US imperial units.
* 1 inch = 25.4 mm; 1 lb/ft = 1.4895 kg/m.
* All tolerances shall be in accordance with ASTM A999 / A999M.
* The stainless steel pipes can be furnished with plain ends(PE), beveled ends(BE) or
threaded ends according to ANSI / ASME B1.20.1.
* Wall thicknesses SCH 5S and SCH 10S don't permit threading.
* For stainless steel pipes 10“ and larger, the schedule 40S and 80S generally are not in
conformance with ASME B36.10M.
2. How to calculate the weight of stainless steel pipes?
1) U.S customary units: W = 10.69*(D − t)*t
W: nominal pipe weight per feet(lb/ft).
D: Outside Diameter of the stainless steel pipe(inch).
t: Wall Thickness of the stainless steel pipe(inch).
2) SI metric units: W = 0.0246615*(D − t)*t
W: nominal pipe weight per meter(kg/m).
D: Outside Diameter of the stainless steel pipe(mm).
t: Wall Thickness of the stainless steel pipe(mm).
