Alloy 625: Chemical Composition, Physical Properties and Product Form
1. General introduction to UNS N06625 (Inconel 625)
Inconel 625, with UNS designation of N06625 and DIN designation of W.Nr. 2.4856, is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloy with an addition of niobium that acts with the molybdenum to siffen the alloy's martix and thereby provide high strength without a strengthening heat treatment. Inconel 625 alloy resists a wide range of severely corrosive environments and is especially resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion. It is widely used in chemical processing, oil and gas projects, aerospace, marine engineering, pollution control equipment, pulp and paper production and nuclear reactors.
